A custom ERP system is an enterprise resource planning application built specifically for one organisation, covering modules such as inventory, procurement, sales, finance, HR and production on a single shared data model. Unlike a packaged ERP, the modules and workflows reflect how that organisation actually operates rather than requiring the organisation to adapt to the product.

Packaged ERP is usually the better choice when your processes are standard for your industry and you are prepared to adapt to the product. Custom ERP makes sense when your operating model is genuinely different, when licence costs scale badly with headcount, or when a package would need so much modification that you lose the benefit of buying it. We give an honest recommendation, including when it is not to hire us.

A focused implementation covering inventory, purchasing, sales and basic accounting typically runs four to eight months to first go-live, with further modules added afterwards. Full-scope programmes across production, HR, payroll and finance run a year or more and should always be phased.
